Target Information
FOXL2는 인간, 염소, 마우스 및 일부 수생 생물에서 고도로 보존된 winged helix/forkhead 전사 인자입니다. 이 단백질은 진화적으로 중요한 역할을 하며, 포유류의 난소 분화 및 난포 발달 유지에 관여합니다.
면역조직화학 연구에 따르면 FOXL2는 핵 단백질로서 주로 눈꺼풀과 태아 및 성체 난소의 여포 세포에서 발현됩니다. 주요한 번역 후 변형은 없으며, BPES (blepharophimosis/ptosis/epicanthus inverses syndrome)와 연관되어 있습니다.
BPES에는 두 가지 형태가 있으며, Type I은 난소 기능 저하를 동반한 눈꺼풀 이상을, Type II는 눈꺼풀 이상만을 보입니다. FOXL2는 마우스 발달 중 눈꺼풀 중간엽과 성체 난소 여포에서 발현됨이 확인되었습니다.
