Target Information
The muscarinic cholinergic receptors are part of the G protein-coupled receptor family. These receptors mediate cellular responses such as adenylate cyclase inhibition, phosphoinositide degradation, and potassium channel regulation.
Muscarinic receptor 1 (CHRM1) is involved in vagally-induced bronchoconstriction and gastric acid secretion. The CHRM1 gene is localized to chromosome 11q13.
