Target Information
MAPK11 (p38 beta) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in various cellular processes and is activated by proinflammatory cytokines and environmental stress. The p38 MAPK beta protein is part of the MAP kinase family, which integrates multiple biochemical signals to regulate proliferation, differentiation, transcription, and development. MAPK11 is closely related to p38 MAP kinase and is activated through phosphorylation by MAP kinase kinases (MKKs), preferably by MKK6. Transcription factor ATF2/CREB2 has been identified as a substrate of this kinase.
