This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
This antibody has specificity for Human STK4/MST1.

Target Information

STK4 (MST1) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in apoptosis. It induces chromatin condensation during apoptosis and acts as a stress-activated, pro-apoptotic kinase. Upon caspase cleavage, STK4 enters the nucleus, inducing chromatin condensation and DNA fragmentation.

STK4 is a key component of the Hippo signaling pathway, which regulates organ size and tumor suppression by restricting proliferation and promoting apoptosis.
In this pathway, STK3/MST2 and STK4/MST1 (in complex with SAV1) phosphorylate and activate LATS1/2 (in complex with MOB1), which then phosphorylate and inactivate YAP1 and WWTR1/TAZ.
Phosphorylation of YAP1 prevents its nuclear translocation, thereby regulating genes involved in cell proliferation, death, and migration.
STK3/MST2 and STK4/MST1 are required to repress hepatocyte proliferation, prevent activation of adult liver stem cells, and inhibit tumor formation.
