Target Information

PLXNA3 acts as a coreceptor for SEMA3A and SEMA3F, essential for class 3 semaphorin signaling and cytoskeletal remodeling. It plays a key role in axon guidance during nervous system development, regulates sympathetic neuron migration, and is required for normal dendritic spine morphology in pyramidal neurons. It may also influence semaphorin-mediated programmed cell death in the developing nervous system. Class 3 semaphorins bind to a complex of neuropilin and plexin, where the plexin domain modulates affinity and triggers downstream signaling.
