Connexin 32는 갭 접합 단백질(gap junction protein) 패밀리에 속하는 막관통 단백질로, 세포 간 이온 및 소분자 전달을 매개하는 갭 접합 채널을 형성합니다. 이 단백질은 α 및 β 두 가지 카테고리로 나뉘며, 해당 유전자의 돌연변이는 X-연관 샤르코-마리-투스(Charcot-Marie-Tooth) 질환을 유발합니다. 동일 단백질을 암호화하는 대체 스플라이싱 전사체가 보고되었습니다.
