Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Nuclear lamins form a network of intermediate-type filaments at the nucleoplasmic side of the nuclear membrane.
Two main subtypes of nuclear lamins are recognized:

  • A-type lamins: lamin A, lamin C, and lamin Adel 10 (from a single gene by alternative splicing)
  • B-type lamins: lamin B1 and lamin B2 (from distinct genes)

Mutations in A-type lamins are linked to several rare but dominant genetic disorders, including:

  • Emery-Dreifuss muscular dystrophy
  • Dilated cardiomyopathy with conduction-system disease
  • Dunnigan-type familial partial lipodystrophy

A-type lamins are associated with cell differentiation and chromatin interaction, suggesting a regulatory role in gene expression.
