Target Information
STAT3 (Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 3)는 세포 내에서 시토카인 및 성장인자에 의해 인산화되어 전사인자로 작용하는 단백질입니다. STAT3는 JAK1 및 JAK2에 의해 Tyr705 잔기에서 인산화되며, 이 과정은 이합체 형성, 핵 내 이동, DNA 결합 활성에 필수적입니다.
STAT3는 Interferon-α, Interferon-γ, EGF, PDGF, IL-6 등에 의해 활성화되며, 세포 성장과 세포사멸 조절 등 다양한 생물학적 과정에 관여합니다.
또한 CREB-binding protein과 같은 보조활성인자가 전사 활성화를 위해 필요하며, PIAS3 단백질은 STAT3의 특이적 억제 인자입니다.
STAT3 유전자는 인간 염색체 17q에 위치하며, 세 가지 상이한 스플라이싱 변이체가 보고되어 있습니다.
Knock-out 마우스에서 STAT3 유전자 결실은 배아 단계에서 치명적임이 확인되었습니다.
