Target Information
MET (c-Met) is a receptor-like tyrosine kinase whose dysregulation has been linked to many types of human malignancies. After activation by its ligand, MET interacts with PI3-kinase subunit PIK3R1, PLCG1, SRC, GRB2, and STAT3. These interactions lead to activation of signaling cascades including RAS-ERK, PI3K-AKT, and PLCγ-PKC pathways.
MET plays a role in embryonic development (gastrulation, muscle and neuron development, angiogenesis, kidney formation) and adult processes such as wound healing, organ regeneration, and tissue remodeling.
MET has been associated with cancers including gastric, renal, and breast, making it a valuable target for cancer therapeutics and diagnostic research.
