- Detects endogenous PKC delta protein at ~80 kDa.
- Purity >95% by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The PKC family of serine/threonine kinases, including PRKCD (PKC delta), is activated intracellularly by signal transduction pathways. In humans, at least 12 PKC isoforms have been identified, differing in structure, distribution, localization, and substrate specificity.
PKC alpha, beta I, beta II, and gamma form the conventional family, which are Ca²⁺- and phospholipid-dependent. PKC can be activated by calcium and diacylglycerol and phosphorylates various protein targets involved in signaling pathways.
PKC family members are receptors for phorbol esters, known tumor promoters. PRKCD is involved in B cell signaling and regulation of growth, apoptosis, and differentiation in various cell types. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been observed.
