Target Information
GAD-65 및 GAD-67은 GABA(γ-aminobutyric acid) 생성을 촉매하는 글루탐산 탈카르복실화효소입니다. GABA는 중추신경계에서 주요 억제성 신경전달물질로 작용하며, Cl⁻ 전도성을 증가시켜 신경 세포의 발화를 억제합니다. GABA는 GABAA, GABAB, GABAC 세 가지 수용체를 활성화합니다.
GABAC 수용체는 망막에서 빠른 억제성 신경전달을 매개하며, 인간에서는 GABRR1, GABRR2, GABRR3 세 유전자가 이 수용체를 구성합니다. GABRR1과 GABRR2는 염색체 6q 영역에 위치하고, GABRR3은 염색체 3q11-q13.3에 위치합니다.
이들 유전자는 GABAA 수용체 서브유닛 유전자와 공통 조상을 가지며, 초기 진화 단계에서 분화되었습니다. GABAC 수용체 서브유닛은 망막뿐 아니라 시각 경로를 포함한 여러 뇌 영역에서도 발현됩니다.
