Product Specific Information
- This antibody does not react with rat.
- For Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Cytokeratin 8 is a member of the type II keratin family located on chromosome 12. Type I and II keratins form intermediate filaments in epithelial cells. Cytokeratin 8 typically dimerizes with keratin 18 to form filaments in simple epithelial cells. It contributes to cellular structural integrity, signal transduction, and differentiation. Mutations in this gene are associated with cryptogenic cirrhosis.
