Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge if not clear after standing at room temperature. Stable for several weeks at 4°C as undiluted liquid. Dilute only before immediate use.

This antibody is directed against human TRAF2 protein and is predicted to react with TRAF2 from human and mouse sources based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. Reactivity with TRAF2 from other sources has not been determined.

Target Information

Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor-associated factors (TRAFs) are adaptor proteins linking TNF receptor superfamily to signaling pathways, regulating cell death and stress responses. TRAF proteins share a homology region enabling receptor and TRAF binding, activating distinct signaling cascades. TRAF2 and TRAF3 bind to CD40, critical for NF-kappa-B activation in B lymphocytes. TRAF2 and TRAF6 are required for CD40 signaling in nonhemopoietic cells. TRAF2 also interacts with lymphotoxin-beta receptor (LTbetaR) with TRAF3 and apoptosis inhibitors cIAP1 and Smac.
