Phospho Glycogen Synthase pS641 antibody is directed against human muscle glycogen synthase. This phospho-specific polyclonal antibody recognizes phosphorylated pS641 of human muscle glycogen synthase with less than 1% cross-reactivity to non-phosphorylated form by ELISA. Cross-reactivity occurs in mouse tissue; reactivity in other species is not determined.

Target Information

Glycogen Synthase 1 (GYS1) catalyzes the addition of glucose monomers to the growing glycogen molecule through formation of alpha-1,4-glycoside linkages. Mutations in this gene are associated with muscle glycogen storage disease. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
