Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to reach a final antibody concentration of about 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
The Lipin family of nuclear proteins includes Lipin-1, Lipin-2, and Lipin-3, each containing a nuclear signal sequence, an amino-terminal (NLIP) domain, and a carboxy-terminal (CLIP) domain.
LPIN1 (Lipin-1) is essential for adipose tissue development and metabolism. It activates PGC-1A target pathways such as fatty acid oxidation and mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation via PPARA expression. LPIN1 also suppresses lipogenesis and circulating lipid levels.
LPIN1 abundance enhances fat accumulation and insulin sensitivity, while deficiency may cause insulin resistance and lipodystrophy characterized by loss of body fat, fatty liver, and hypertriglyceridemia.
