Target Information
MAP2K4 (MEK4) is a serine/threonine kinase of the STE7 family that phosphorylates and activates JNK1, JNK2, and p38. It preferentially phosphorylates tyrosine residues in JNKs and mediates cellular stress and inflammatory cytokine responses. MAP2K4 is implicated in carcinogenesis, with loss-of-function mutations observed in lung and pancreatic tumors, while also showing pro-oncogenic roles.
