STAT6 단백질은 사이토카인, 특히 IL-4 및 IL-13에 의해 활성화되는 전사 인자입니다. STAT6 결핍 마우스(Stat6-/-)는 IL-4 매개 기능(Th2 보조 T세포 분화, 세포 표면 마커 발현, T세포 증식, IgE 전환 등)에 결함을 보입니다. STAT6 mRNA는 말초혈액 림프구, 결장, 장, 난소, 전립선, 흉선, 비장, 신장, 간, 폐, 태반 등에서 검출됩니다. STAT6는 Th2 면역 반응 및 IL-4 매개 생물학적 반응에 중요한 역할을 하며, STAT6a와 STAT6c 두 가지 이소형으로 존재합니다.
