Target Information
CXCR1 is a member of the G-protein-coupled receptor family and serves as a receptor for interleukin 8 (IL8).
It binds IL8 with high affinity and transduces signals through a G-protein activated second messenger system.
Knockout studies suggest CXCR1 inhibits embryonic oligodendrocyte precursor migration in developing spinal cord.
The IL8RB gene and related pseudogene IL8RBP form a gene cluster on chromosome 2q33–q36.
