Product Specific Information

The EBVCS2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD23, a 45 kDa type II transmembrane glycoprotein.
CD23 is expressed on mature B cells, mantle zone B cells, follicular dendritic cells, and at low levels on T, NK, Langerhans cells, and platelets.
Expression of CD23 is upregulated upon B cell activation, and soluble forms are biologically active.
CD23 acts as a low affinity receptor for IgE and is involved in regulation of IgE response and B cell activation.
CD21 and the alpha subunit of CD11b/CD11c bind to CD23.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells.
Use at 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
Excitation: 488–561 nm; Emission: 578 nm; Laser: Blue, Green, Yellow-Green.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

CD23 is a 45 kDa glycoprotein present on a subpopulation of B cells and EBV-transformed B lymphoblasts.
It functions as the low affinity IgE receptor and is involved in B cell growth, differentiation, and IgE production.
Soluble CD23 acts as a potent mitogenic factor.
Expression is detected in chronic lymphocytic leukemia and certain lymphomas.
Diseases associated with CD23 dysfunction include chronic conjunctivitis and chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
