This antibody detects endogenous levels of HCN1 only when phosphorylated at Ser846.
Target Information
HCN1 belongs to the hyperpolarization-activated cation channel family (HCN), contributing to spontaneous rhythmic activity in both heart and brain.
HCN1 and HCN2 are crucial for motor learning and neuronal integration by cerebellar Purkinje cells, influencing autonomous neuronal activity and network oscillation periodicity.
HCN1 expression is enriched in the cerebral cortex, hippocampus, cerebellum, and facial motor nucleus, while HCN2 is abundant in mamillary bodies, pontine nucleus, ventral cochlear nucleus, and nucleus of the trapezoid body.
These regional differences in HCN channel expression contribute to variations in neuronal pacemaker activity across brain systems.
