Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human IL-15. Anti-Human IL-15-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human IL-15 matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
For detection of Human IL-15 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), use 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody. When combined with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human IL-15 (500-P15Bt) as the detection antibody, it allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human IL-15.

Western Blot:
For detection of Human IL-15 by Western blot, use 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. In conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human IL-15 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

IL-15 (Interleukin 15) is a cytokine that regulates T and natural killer cell activation and proliferation. IL-15 and IL-2 share many biological activities, binding common hematopoietin receptor subunits and potentially competing for the same receptor, thereby regulating each other’s activity.
It influences CD8+ memory cell balance, activates JAK kinases and transcription factors STAT3, STAT5, and STAT6. Studies in mice suggest IL-15 may enhance expression of apoptosis inhibitor Bcl-xL via STAT6 activation, preventing apoptosis.
IL-15 plays a key role in the growth and differentiation of T and B lymphocytes, NK cells, macrophages, and monocytes, and is essential in immune responses, graft rejection, and autoimmune disease pathogenesis. It is also implicated in inflammatory disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and pulmonary inflammation. IL-15 neutralization shows potential therapeutic benefits in psoriasis and diabetes models.
