Target Information
Kallikreins are a subgroup of serine proteases with diverse physiological roles. Many are implicated in carcinogenesis and may serve as cancer or disease biomarkers.
KLK8 is one of fifteen kallikrein subfamily members located in a gene cluster on chromosome 19. It may be involved in proteolytic cascades in the skin and act as a biomarker for ovarian cancer. Multiple transcript variants exist due to alternative splicing.
