Target Information
Choline phosphotransferase catalyzes the final step in the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine by transferring phosphocholine from CDP-choline to diacylglycerol. The synthesis of phosphatidylethanolamine by ethanolamine phosphotransferase occurs through an analogous reaction. This gene encodes a choline/ethanolamine phosphotransferase capable of synthesizing either choline- or ethanolamine-containing phospholipids. Two alternatively spliced transcripts encoding the same isoform have been identified.
