TS2/16 단일클론 항체는 인간 CD29(Integrin beta 1)에 반응하며, 약 130 kDa의 단일 통과형 막단백질을 인식합니다. CD29는 다양한 integrin alpha 서브유닛과 결합하여 VLA(Very Late Antigen) 부류의 접착 분자를 형성합니다. 이 복합체는 세포 간 및 세포-기질 간 접착에 관여합니다.
CD29는 림프구와 단핵구에서 광범위하게 발현되며, 과립구에서는 낮은 수준으로 나타납니다. TS2/16 항체는 beta 1 integrin 활성화 기능을 가지고 있습니다.

ITGB1 (Integrin Subunit Beta 1, CD29)은 다양한 세포에서 발현되는 110 kDa 세포 표면 당단백질입니다. 최소 6가지 alpha 체인(alpha1~alpha6)과 비공유 결합된 이합체를 형성하여 VLA integrin의 결합 특성을 결정합니다. ITGB1은 혈소판, 백혈구, 여러 조직에서 세포 접착 분자로 작용하며, 종양세포의 다약제 내성과 면역세포 이동, 염증성 장질환 등과 관련된 생리적 조절에 관여합니다.
Beta1 integrin은 두 가지 주요 형태(beta1A, beta1D)를 가지며, 조직 특이적 발현 양상을 보입니다.
