Description:
The H44 antibody reacts with the interleukin-18 receptor alpha chain (IL-18Ra, also known as IL-1Rrp), a member of the IL-1 receptor family. IL-18R alpha is expressed on Th1 cells, NK cell subsets, neutrophils, and IL-12-stimulated tonsillar B cells. By itself, IL-18R alpha binds IL-18 with low affinity, but in complex with the IL-18R beta chain, it binds IL-18 with high affinity. The IL-18/IL-18R complex plays a key role in innate and autoimmune immune responses.

Applications Reported:
H44 has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
This antibody has been pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis on human peripheral blood cells. It can be used at 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test. A test is defined as the amount of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 µL. Cell number should be determined empirically (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
It is recommended to stain whole blood before RBC lysis.

Target Information

IL18R1 is a cytokine receptor belonging to the interleukin-1 receptor family. It specifically binds interleukin-18 (IL18) and is essential for IL18-mediated signal transduction. IFN-α and IL-12 induce expression of this receptor in NK and T cells. The gene is part of a cluster on chromosome 2q along with IL1R2, IL1R1, ILRL2 (IL-1Rrp2), and IL1RL1 (T1/ST2).
