Target Information

This gene encodes a protein that is a member of the seven in absentia homolog family. The protein functions as an E3 ubiquitin ligase involved in ubiquitination and proteasome-mediated degradation of specific proteins. Its activity is implicated in Parkinson’s disease, regulation of hypoxia response, and induction of apoptosis. Alternative splicing yields multiple transcript variants, some encoding distinct isoforms.
