Product Specific Information

The PK136 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse NK1.1, an antigen expressed by natural killer cells and a subset of T cells in NK1.1-positive mouse strains (e.g., C57BL/6, NZB). Strains such as BALB/c, SJL, AKR, CBA, C3H, and A do not express NK1.1; for these, use the DX5 antibody (Product #14-5971).

Simultaneous staining of C57BL/6 spleen cells with PK136 and DX5 shows coexpression of both markers in most cells, with small populations of DX5+PK136− and DX5−PK136+ cells.

Applications Tested: Tested on C57BL/6 mouse splenocytes, ≤0.125 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimize antibody titration for best performance.

Target Information

NK1.1 (KLRB1, NKR-P1A, CD161) is expressed by Natural Killer (NK) cells, mediating cytotoxicity and cytokine secretion. The KLRB1 protein, a C-type lectin-like receptor, includes an extracellular lectin domain, transmembrane region, and cytoplasmic tail. It is classified as a type II membrane protein with an external C terminus. NKR-P1A recognizes Lectin Like Transcript-1 (LLT1) as its functional ligand.
