Target Information

Expression of MC4R has been reported in brain. Unlike other melanocortin receptors, MC4R is not expressed in adrenal cortex or melanocytes.
G-protein Coupled Receptors (GPCRs) comprise one of the largest families of signaling molecules, sharing a structural motif of seven membrane-spanning helices.
These receptors exist in active and inactive forms, with various ligands inducing conformational changes that trigger G-protein signaling cascades.
