PPP1R7 (Sds22) is a regulatory subunit of the protein phosphatase 1 (PP1) holoenzyme, which plays a key role in phosphorylation and dephosphorylation of serine/threonine residues in eukaryotic cells.
It is a 360 amino acid nuclear protein containing ten LRR (leucine-rich repeat) domains and is expressed in various tissues.
PPP1R7 regulates PP1 complex activity, contributing to cellular processes such as division, homeostasis, and apoptosis.
Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing.
