Product Specific Information
This antibody specifically recognizes human ERR alpha and cross-reacts with mouse and rat ERR alpha. It does not recognize human ERR beta or gamma.
Target Information
Estrogen-related receptor alpha 1 (ERR alpha, ERR1) is an orphan member of the nuclear hormone receptor superfamily. The ERR family shares an almost identical DNA-binding domain, with 68% amino acid identity to that of the estrogen receptor. ERR alpha binds to the ERR-alpha response element (ERRE) containing a consensus half-site (5’-tnaaggtca-3’), and can bind to the medium-chain acyl coenzyme A dehydrogenase (MCAD) response element NRRE-1, acting as a regulator of the MCAD promoter. ERR1 functions as a metabolic regulator and is expressed in tissues that preferentially metabolize fatty acids. The corresponding gene is NR3B1.
