Product Specific Information
The monoclonal antibody GR-20 recognizes mouse CD119 (IFN gamma receptor 1).
CD119 heterodimerizes with IFN gamma receptor 2 (AF-1) forming the Class II cytokine receptor complex.
The ligand IFN gamma binds to the IFN gamma receptor 1 subunit, while signal transduction occurs via the IFN gamma receptor 2 subunit.
This receptor is involved in host defense and is broadly expressed in B cells, NK cells, macrophages, dendritic cells, and other non-hematopoietic cell types.
The GR-20 antibody has been reported to block IFN gamma binding to CD119.

The human interferon-gamma receptor is a heterodimer of IFNGR1 and IFNGR2.
Genetic variation in IFNGR1 is associated with susceptibility to Helicobacter pylori infection.
Defects in IFNGR1 can cause mendelian susceptibility to mycobacterial disease (familial disseminated atypical mycobacterial infection).
