Target Information
MARK4 is a serine/threonine kinase likely involved in microtubule organization in neuronal cells. The encoded protein associates with the centrosome during mitosis and may play a role in cell cycle control. MARK4 expression is a potential cancer marker and may also be implicated in Alzheimer’s disease. Pseudogenes are located on both arms of chromosome 3, and alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed.
