Product Specific Information
Description:
The II/41 monoclonal antibody reacts with the µ heavy chain of mouse IgM. It does not react with other classes of mouse immunoglobulin including IgD, IgG, or IgA. IgM is expressed intracellularly during early stages of B lymphopoiesis and on the surface of mature B cells in bone marrow and peripheral tissues. Fluorochrome-conjugated II/41 can be used as a detection secondary for mouse IgM.

Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse bone marrow cells. Recommended ≤ 0.5 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number may range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test. Titrate for optimal performance.
Fluorochrome Information:
PerCP-eFluor™ 710 can substitute for PE-Cy5, PE-Cy5.5, or PerCP-Cy5.5.

Recommended filters: 685 LP dichroic mirror and 710/40 band pass filter (695/40 acceptable alternative).
Stable when exposed to 2% formaldehyde overnight at 4°C (evaluate for alternative fixation).
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
Mouse IgM is an immunoglobulin M antibody produced by B cells in response to antigens. It is the first antibody generated during immune response and the largest immunoglobulin in serum. Composed of five heavy and five light chains, it plays a key role in complement activation and antigen agglutination. Widely used in ELISA, Western blot, and immunohistochemistry.
