Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Carnitine palmitoyltransferase I (CPT1A) initiates mitochondrial oxidation of long-chain fatty acids, acting in concert with CPT II and carnitine-acylcarnitine translocase. CPT I, located in the outer mitochondrial membrane, is detergent-labile and essential for carnitine-dependent transport across the mitochondrial inner membrane. Deficiency leads to reduced fatty acid β-oxidation. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
