Product Specific Information
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
FTH1 encodes the heavy subunit of ferritin, the major intracellular iron storage protein in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Ferritin is composed of 24 subunits of heavy and light chains. Variation in subunit composition can affect iron uptake and release rates. Its primary function is to store iron in a soluble, nontoxic form. Defects in ferritin proteins are linked to several neurodegenerative diseases. This gene has multiple pseudogenes, and several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been observed, though their biological significance remains uncertain.
