Product Specific Information

  • Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed):
    Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
    For formalin-fixed tissues, heat sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

FTH1 is the heavy subunit of ferritin, the major intracellular iron storage protein in prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It consists of 24 subunits of heavy and light ferritin chains. Variation in ferritin subunit composition may affect iron uptake and release rates in different tissues. Ferritin stores iron in a soluble and non-toxic form. Defects in ferritin proteins are linked to several neurodegenerative diseases. This gene has multiple pseudogenes, and several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been observed, though their biological validity remains undetermined.
