This antibody recognizes and binds the SARS-CoV-2 C-terminal receptor binding domain (RBD) located in the extracellular portion of the spike protein.
Target Information

The CoV Spike (S) protein plays a key role in viral attachment, fusion, and entry, and serves as a major target for antibody development, entry inhibitors, and vaccines.
The Spike protein receptor-binding domain (RBD, S-RBD) binds strongly to human and bat angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptors, exhibiting significantly higher affinity to ACE2 than SARS-CoV RBD.
S1 contains a receptor-binding domain (RBD) that specifically binds to ACE2 receptors on target cells.
