Product Specific Information
This antibody binds to the Timothy grass allergen Phl p 1 and shows cross-reactivity with natural group 1 allergens from various grass species such as oat, sweet vernal grass, Bermuda grass, rye grass, common reed, Kentucky blue grass, rye, wheat, and maize (weak).
Target Information
Phl p 1 binds to specific receptors on immune cell surfaces, including TLR4 (Toll-like receptor 4) and MD-2 (myeloid differentiation factor 2). This interaction activates immune cells and triggers inflammatory mediator release, leading to allergic symptoms. The Phl p 1–TLR4–MD-2 interaction is a key event in grass pollen allergy development and is an important target for therapeutic research.
