• Recognizes extracellular Ig domain D2 (membrane proximal) of CD147 (Neurothelin), a 50–60 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on leukocytes, red blood cells, platelets, and endothelial cells; not expressed by resting lymphocytes.
• Endotoxin level: <0.01 EU/µg (LAL test).
• Western blotting should be performed under non-reducing conditions with 293 human fibroblastoid cells as a positive control.
• Functional Application: Inhibition.

Target Information

CD147 (also known as basigin, neurothelin, OX-47, 5A11, CE9, M6, EMMPRIN, extracellular matrix metalloproteinase inducer, TCSF, tumour cell-derived collagenase-stimulatory factor) is a 50–60 kDa glycoprotein with multiple glycosylated forms.
It is a plasma membrane protein involved in spermatogenesis, embryo implantation, neural network formation, and tumor progression.
CD147 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, expressed most highly in metabolically active cells such as lymphoblasts, inflammatory cells, brown adipocytes, and malignant tumor cells.
It facilitates cell surface expression of monocarboxylate transporter proteins and extracellular matrix metalloproteinases, regulates integrin functions, and plays roles in cell development, activation, fetal development, and retinal function.
