Cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterases (PDEs) catalyze the hydrolysis of cAMP and cGMP, regulating the effects of these second messengers. The PDE3 family includes two members, PDE3A and PDE3B, encoded by separate genes. PDE3B (~130 kDa) is mainly expressed in adipose tissue and lymphocytes, while PDE3A (~120 kDa) is expressed predominantly in platelets and heart tissue.

The monoclonal antibody SMCP3B reacts specifically with mouse PDE3B. It was generated against amino acids 643–1100 in the C-terminus and does not cross-react with mouse PDE3A, as confirmed by western blot analysis of mouse heart lysates. It also does not cross-react with human PDE3B.

• Applications Tested: Tested by immunoblotting of mouse lymph node cells and mouse heart under reducing conditions. Recommended dilution is 1–5 µg/mL. Optimal titration is advised for best results.

Target Information

Cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase with dual specificity for cAMP and cGMP, key regulators of many physiological processes. PDE3B may play a role in fat metabolism and regulates cAMP binding of RAPGEF3. It forms a signaling complex with RAPGEF3 and PIK3R6, activating the PI3K gamma complex involved in angiogenesis.
