Target Information
PGP9.5 (Protein Gene Product 9.5, UCH-L1, PARK5)는 뉴런 특이적 단백질로, neuron-specific enolase와 구조적·면역학적으로 구별됩니다. 분자량은 약 27 kDa이며, ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase family 1 (peptidase family C12)에 속합니다.
PGP9.5는 유비퀴틴 가수분해 및 리가아제 활성을 가지며, 유비퀴틴 단량체를 생성합니다.
이 단백질은 중추 및 말초 신경계의 뉴런과 신경섬유, 신경내분비 세포, 신장 세뇨관 일부, 고환의 정원세포 및 Leydig 세포, 난자, 황체 세포 등 다양한 조직에 존재합니다.
PGP9.5 과발현은 비소세포폐암과 관련이 있으며, 발현 저하는 헌팅턴병 및 알츠하이머병과 연관됩니다.
따라서 PGP9.5는 신경세포 마커 및 신경퇴행성 질환 연구에 유용한 표지자로 사용됩니다.
