Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Rat MIP-1alpha (CCL3). Anti-Rat MIP-1alpha (CCL3) specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.
Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Rat MIP-1alpha by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required.
This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Rat MIP-1alpha (500-P77) as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Rat MIP-1alpha.
Western Blot:
To detect Rat MIP-1alpha by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL.
Used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Rat MIP-1alpha is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

500-P77BT-1MG will be provided as 2 × 500 µg.
Target Information
Both MIP-1alpha and MIP-1beta are structurally and functionally related CC chemokines. They participate in host response to invading bacterial, viral, parasite, and fungal pathogens by regulating the trafficking and activation state of selected subgroups of inflammatory cells (e.g., macrophages, lymphocytes, and NK cells).
While both MIP-1alpha and MIP-1beta exert similar effects on monocytes, their effect on lymphocytes differ:
- MIP-1alpha selectively attracts CD8+ lymphocytes
- MIP-1beta selectively attracts CD4+ lymphocytes
Additionally, MIP-1alpha and MIP-1beta are potent chemoattractants for B cells, eosinophils, and dendritic cells. Both human and murine MIP-1alpha and MIP-1beta are active on human and murine hematopoietic cells.
