Target Information
K-RAS (GTPase KRas) is a member of the Ras oncogene family. Ras proteins bind GDP/GTP and possess intrinsic GTPase activity. K-RAS regulates cell proliferation and contributes to oncogenic processes by inducing transcriptional silencing of tumor suppressor genes in colorectal cancer cells in a ZNF304-dependent manner. Mutations in K-RAS are associated with acute myelogenous leukemia, juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia, Noonan syndrome, gastric cancer, and cardiofaciocutaneous syndrome 2.
