They specifically bind to target proteins such as neurexin I-alpha, which mediates adhesion between dendrites and axons and is crucial for neurotransmitter release.
Neurexophilin-4 (NXPH4, NPH4) is a 308-amino-acid secreted protein expressed in brain, spleen, and testis.
