Target Information
Fatty acid synthase (FASN) is a multifunctional enzyme that catalyzes the synthesis of palmitate from acetyl-CoA and malonyl-CoA in the presence of NADPH, forming long-chain saturated fatty acids. In certain cancer cell lines, FASN may be fused with estrogen receptor-alpha (ER-alpha), resulting in a hybrid protein with altered functional properties.
