Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of beta Catenin only when phosphorylated at Tyr333.
Target Information
Beta-catenin is an adherens junction (AJ) protein essential for cell-cell adhesion and epithelial layer integrity. It interacts with E-cadherin and alpha-catenin to anchor the adhesion complex to the actin cytoskeleton. Beta-catenin also associates with signaling pathways involving tyrosine kinases, phosphatases, and Wnt/Wingless, influencing morphogenesis and proliferation. Aberrant beta-catenin activity is implicated in various cancers including colorectal, ovarian, and breast tumors. In the nucleus, it co-activates Lef/Tcf transcription factors to promote expression of genes such as cyclin D and c-myc.
