Target Information

FBXO8 encodes a member of the F-box protein family characterized by the ~40 amino acid F-box motif.
F-box proteins are subunits of the SCF (SKP1–Cullin–F-box) ubiquitin ligase complex, which mediates phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination.
They are divided into three classes:

1. Fbws – containing WD-40 domains
2. Fbls – containing leucine-rich repeats
3. Fbxs – containing diverse interaction modules or no recognizable motifs

FBXO8 belongs to the Fbxs class and features a C-terminal sequence similar to yeast Sec7p, a regulator of vesicular protein transport.
This protein may interact with ADP-ribosylation factors (ARFs) and exhibit ARF-GEF activity.
