Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They combine multiple different recombinant monoclonal antibodies, offering the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies and the specificity of monoclonal antibodies, with the consistency of recombinant production.
Functionally similar to polyclonal antibodies, they recognize multiple epitopes and provide high detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets. Each lot contains a defined mixture of light and heavy chains, ensuring reproducibility and eliminating biological variability typical of polyclonal antibody production.

Target Information
The Calcitonin Receptor inhibits bone resorption and is expressed during development, playing a role in morphogenesis. Three alternatively spliced isoforms have been identified. In addition to binding calcitonin, it can form a complex with RAMP3 to bind amylin, which regulates pancreatic islet function and is involved in Type II diabetes.
Expression has been reported in artery, blood, bone, brain, kidney, lung, placenta, prostate, skeletal muscle, and thyroid. ESTs have been isolated from bone, embryo, kidney, and melanocyte/uterus/fetal heart libraries.
