They combine multiple recombinant monoclonal antibodies to deliver both the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies and the specificity of monoclonal antibodies, with the consistency achievable only in recombinant systems.

While functionally similar to polyclonal antibodies—recognizing multiple epitope sites and offering high detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets—these antibodies consist of a defined mixture of light and heavy chains, ensuring reproducibility across lots and eliminating biological variability.

Target Information

MCHR1 (Melanin-Concentrating Hormone Receptor 1) is a G protein-coupled receptor located in the plasma membrane that binds melanin-concentrating hormone. It inhibits cAMP accumulation and stimulates intracellular calcium flux, playing a role in neuronal regulation of food consumption. Although structurally similar to somatostatin receptors, MCHR1 does not bind somatostatin.
