Stage-Specific Embryonic Antigen-5 (SSEA-5)는 당지질 및 당단백질의 구성 성분이 될 수 있는 올리고사카라이드로, H-1 항원의 특징적인 Fuc1-2Gal-β1-3GlcNAc-β 모티프를 포함합니다. SSEA-5는 인간 배아 발생 중 배아포의 내부 세포 덩어리에서, 미분화 인간 배아줄기세포 및 유도만능줄기세포 표면에서 발견됩니다. SSEA-5는 다른 줄기세포 마커의 소실보다 먼저 나타나며, CD9 및 CD90 또는 CD50 및 CD200과의 조합은 분화된 세포 집단에서 드물게 존재하는 미분화 인간 ES 세포를 식별 및 제거하는 데 기존 마커보다 우수한 것으로 보고되었습니다.
